The popularity of podcasts is forever increasing. With the ability to listen to them on the move – perhaps on your daily commute, when completing housework, cooking dinner, getting ready in the morning and just about whenever you want – they are an incredibly useful way to take in information concerning your thyroid health and wellbeing.
The below podcasts are ones that I follow or have listened to in the past and have found useful or insightful in my own experiences as someone with hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, mental health struggles etc.
1. Thyroid Refresh TV
Thyroid Refresh is an online platform that makes living a thyroid healthy lifestyle into a game. Creators Danna and Ginny created Thyroid30, a 30-day challenge that focuses on keeping you on track with your thyroid health, as well as the podcast Thyroid Refresh TV, which has varying guest episodes. With the information any thyroid patient should know in order to feel informed about their health, this podcast is a must-listen.
2. Thyroid Nation RADIO
This podcast is hosted by thyroid patient expert McCall McPherson. The aim of episodes is to discuss thyroid disease with some of the most advanced and innovative physicians, educators, bloggers, thyroid thrivers and advocates out there.
3. Chronically Healing Podcast
The Chronically Healing podcast is run by Jessie Deschane, a chronic illness coach living with Hashimoto’s. She has open and interesting conversations with people on their own unique chronic illness healing journey, discussing how they manage their day to day lives and what has helped them to get their health condition under control.
4. Functional Medicine Research Podcast
This podcast by functional medicine practitioner and chiropractor Dr. Nikolas Hedberg focuses on functional medicine research and developments. It covers a variety of topics including thyroid and autoimmune disease, mental health, hormonal imbalances, digestive health and more.
5. Uninvisible Pod
Lauren Freedman’s podcast is about invisible health conditions and features interviews with patients, their loved ones, advocates, and medical and holistic experts. Lauren herself lives with Hashimoto’s.
6. Doctor Thyroid
This podcast features top thyroid doctors and healthcare professionals, with interviews intended to be a resource for those wanting to thrive, regardless of setbacks related to thyroid disease. Seeking to provide patients and practitioners with better treatment alternatives related to endocrinology, hypothyroidism, thyroid cancer, functional medicine, pathology, and radiation treatment.
7. Thyroid Warrior
Ebony Williams, thyroid disease coach and personal trainer, delivers a solid dose of positivity and motivation in her podcast, Thyroid Warrior. She speaks about the steps she took to get her health and life back on track with Hashimoto’s.
8. Invisible Not Broken
Invisible Not Broken is a chronic illness podcast and blog that explores the lives of those with chronic illness, invisible illness, and disability with a sense of humour.
